Only a short update from The Trustees this month as we hope to see many of you at the next public meeting:
ACKLETON VILLAGE HALL PUBLIC MEETING
Tuesday May 6th at 7pm
Ackleton Village Hall
Come and have a cuppa and a catch up with the latest on the Hall!
As you read this, the final electrical work is being completed: as expected, the survey revealed LOTS of ‘little surprises’ not all of which were welcome! As a result, we are having new wall light fittings, new strip lights and new emergency lights as well as a range of new sockets and switches, ensuring that all fittings are safe and that we can pass both electrical and fire safety.
Getting the hall ready to open has been a huge group effort and many villagers (too many to name but you know who you are) have given their time and elbow grease to make it look spick and span in time for the meeting. There is still work to do to bring the décor and fixtures and fittings up to date, but everything now looks (and smells!) much better. The spider and woodlouse population of Ackleton has been reduced by about 50% but we have a feeling they’ll be back…

The Brick campaign is drawing to a close now, and the final opportunity to sponsor will be at the meeting on the 6th, when we will have forms available. To date 961 bricks have been sponsored, which is a fantastic amount of money raised in such a short time. If you sponsored, you should have received a certificate by now, either by email or through your letterbox; if you think we have missed you off the list, drop us an email at ackletonvillagehalltrustees@hotmail.com and we’ll put that right!
As ever, we really appreciate the interest and support that everyone is showing; it’s been lovely to share the progress with people who pass by, and we look forward to seeing you on the 6th.
