Firstly, thank you to everyone who attended the meeting in the hall on 6th May – it was so good to be able to welcome you all into the hall again and to see such enthusiasm for the future of our lovely building.Since that meeting, the Ackleton Community Group has hosted two events in the hall: a very successful social night on Friday 6th June, followed by a lovely coffee morning the next day; the two events raised just under £250, but the sense of community that was on show is beyond price! Thanks to the new partnership between the ACG and the Trustees, profits raised from this and future events will all benefit the hall and it is great to have their enthusiasm and organisational expertise on board.

Exercise classes are also up and running again and the lovely Lauren is running her sessions on a Thursday evening from 6:30 – 7:15 pm and a Tuesday at 6:30-7:15 am (yes, you read it right!). The classes are really popular and can be tailored for a range of ages and abilities, so if you fancy joining her merry band , you can contact Lauren on 07932 380507 or through her website www.laurenmayfitness.com.
Meetings with builders are very much part of life at The Hall: it has been established that we need to replace part, if all not all, of the floor and that the roof over the kitchen also needs replacing and we await quotes for these and other works. Quotes mean money so the coming months will see a variety of intitiatives designed to raise the funds needed to do the renovations – see below for the first of many!
And talking of raising money, we have just found that out that our bid for a match-funded grant from the Millichope Foundation was successful: we have been awarded £500 towards the purchase of new fridges, cooker and microwave for the kitchen, which will make The Hall a much more attractive package for potential hirers. We are grateful to Community Resource for supporting our application and facilitating the process.
We welcome new bookings so if you would like to hire the hall for a one-off or regular booking, then you can contact the Trustees on ackletonvillagehalltrustees@hotmail.com or by calling Brendan on 07483863104.
