Isn’t it lovely to have good news to share? August 17th saw in excess of two hundred visitors come to Ackleton to enjoy a cream tea in the gardens of Ackleton House. Our generous hosts, Steve and Tracy Smith, opened their gates to raise funds for the Village Hall and thanks to John and Mary Chester, we were able to accommodate visiting cars in the field opposite. As you can see, the weather gods certainly smiled on us!
Despite not wanting to see another scone for a very long time, the Ackleton Community Group members are delighted to report that we made a profit of £1700, which will go towards the replacement of the hall floor. Our thanks also go to Boningale Nurseries and Hillview Hardy Plants for the kind donations of plants for our stall.

Autumn is fast approaching and we have the Winetasting Evening coming up on September 12th (email ackletonvillagehalltrustees@hotmail.com for tickets – only a few left) and then we have a couple more dates for your diary:
4th October: Ackleton Village Scarecrow Competition and Harvest Supper
17th October: Preloved and Prosecco – a chance to clear your wardrobe and make some cash. All accompanied by a glass of fizz!
More details to follow next month…
