September was a busy month for the Trustees and the Ackleton Community Group: following a couple of weeks’ break after the Open Garden in August, we hit the road running again at our wine-tasting on 12th September. Our guests enjoyed 5 delicious wines from Pattingham Vineyard, generous portions of cheese from Moyden’s in Market Drayton, Deb Wild at Knead-a-loaf’s fantastic handmade sourdough bread and an amazing range of fruit and vegetables kindly donated by Clearview Farm shop – we are grateful to all our suppliers for their generosity and to our customers for joining us and helping us raise £815 towards the renovation of the floor.

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a £2000 grant by Marches Energy to be an official Warm Welcome Hub. The grant will go towards, new insulation in the kitchen, an improved sound system, utility bills and resources for our free to access events over the autumn and winter. The scheme supports venues to combat fuel poverty in their communities by opening to the public on a range of dates over the colder months and offering a warm space, a drink and somewhere to charge a phone. We look forward to welcoming villagers and friends to the following events under the scheme:
